Tulsa Head Coach Randy Keck:
Talk about today's performance:
"It was a little bit of a bounce-back today for us. We played a little bit better today. After feeling like we got beat up yesterday, it was nice to come back with a little energy and competitive spirit. We played well today."
Talk about Woori's performance today:
"She had a little bit of a train wreck in the middle, but re-gathered herself and finished strong like she normally does. She has had a good career.
Talk about Sarah Eliot and her performance throughout the tournament:
"Sarah flew in to Tulsa on a visit, because someone told her what a great program Tulsa has had. She sat in the office and said if we just give us an opportunity to play that she wouldn't disappoint us. She hasn't. She's played phenomenal. She's worked hard and just gets better every week. It's a perfect underdog story. She came out of high school not very heavily recruited. We watched her play a little bit, and saw that she had a little something special. She's be a phenomenal player eventually."
"She's a tough kid and keeps working hard. Some kids get it at a younger age. She has a little fire that's lacking with some of our younger players. She's got a great competitive spirit and good work ethic. She's only going to get better and better. We're really excited about her."
Talk about the youth of this team:
"We're really excited about this group of players. It's easy to be down because we don't win on our own golf course and it's easy to be down because we played bad. It doesn't matter what sport, when you're freshmen loaded your expectations change a little bit. You're trying to prepare for the future and the next couple of seasons, and we've done that. We have a great corps of young players, who are really, really talented. They'll be brought along slowly. We'll make mistakes and learn from them and hopefully get a lot better."
Tulsa Player and Second-Place Finisher Sarah Elliot:
Your reaction to finishing in second place: "I'm really excited. It would have been awesome for our team to come out with a win, but for my freshman year I'm happy the way my year ended. I wish our team as a whole had done a lot better. I know we're all a little disappointed in that, but I'm excited that I came in second and it pumps me up for the fall.
"Yesterday was crucial. I just tried my hardest to go out with a good mindset and finish strong throughout the two rounds, and it looks like it paid off in the end."
Tulane Head Coach John Thomas Horton:
On winning the team championship in their first season back as a program:
"It's a truly special day for me as a coach, but also for these players. This was one of our goals for the year, and for them to play the way they did coming down the stretch on the final day on a tough golf course, is just a true testament to their work ethic, their poise and their determination to be a great team. This just capitalizes off a great spring. I'm excited to Daniela (Holmqvist) and excited for the rest of the team. I'm proud of the way they stepped up when we needed to the most."
On playing in the nicer weather today:
"Much better day. Better weather conditions, and it just shows even in good weather conditions, this is still a tough golf course. We had a good strategy and a good process. That's what the girls did best today. They stuck with the process and did just a fantastic job of hitting to the right spots and taking care of the golf course in the right areas."
On how his team played today:
"My team played great. Today was a solid, solid round. Probably what I'm most impressed with is they played the back nine coming down the stretch, even though we had a good lead it was still important for us to play well coming down the stretch, and that's what we were able to do. That's what I'm most proud about."
On the play of Daniela Holmqvist:
"Daniela has deserved every bit of this. She's worked hard as a freshman, and for a freshman to come in and win this conference tournament, and play the way she did and win by as many as she did is more impressive. She works hard and she's determined, and this is a great reward for her. I'm just so happy she can enjoy this moment."
Tulane Player and Individual Champion Daniela Holmqvist:
On winning the individual championship and winning as a freshman:
"I haven't really wrapped my head around it yet. I haven't really understood it yet. This is not really my victory, it's my team's victory. It really is. I would never have gotten here without my coach, the support from my teammates and all the athletic staff at Tulane is just amazing - the work they've done for us."
On winning the team championship:
"It's great. It's really important for us, and I'm so glad to put Tulane back on the map after (Hurricane) Katrina and everything. As a first year team back, I think it's amazing to win the conference championship."
On how you played today:
"I started out really well and made a lot of birdies. I unfortunately made a triple-bogey on the back nine. But I hit a lot of good shots and made some good putts and a really good up and down today, it was all I can do. It was lovely weather today, and I don't think there is anything we can complain about today."
