Turpin Tears Through Qualifying

NORMAN, Okla. - Junior No. 8 seed Rusty Turpin cruised through his two matches and joined his teammates in the Main Draw at the 2010 ITA Central Regional Championships Thursday afternoon.
The member of The University of Tulsa men's tennis team received a bye in the opening round of the Qualifying Draw and used his extra rest to easily dispatch of Abdul Alawadhi of UMKC 6-4, 6-2.
He then defeated Eric Nguyen of Bradley 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6) to earn a spot in Friday's Main Draw.
The Main Draw will be released later.
