The University of Tulsa women's rowing team will take on Notre Dame this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 29th and 30th, on the St. Joseph River in downtown South Bend, Ind.

On Friday, the two crews will race the Eights in head races beginning at 5:30 p.m., while the Fours will compete on Saturday in a stake race that is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. Head races are when the crew races against the clock as each shell begins the race in 10-15 second intervals and race down the course, while a stake race the crews again start in 10-15 second intervals, but race to a fixed point, turn around and race back to the start line.

"With rowing on Friday and Saturday, and the TU-Notre Dame football game this weekend, it will be a very exciting time for Tulsa in South Bend," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "The races will be very competitive and we are really excited about stepping up and competing against one of the top-20 teams in the country."

The best viewing of the race will be at the Farmer's Market located at Northside Boulevard and East Sample Street.
