Tulsa Rowers Take Second and Third Against Notre Dame

South Bend, Ind. - The University of Tulsa Eights finished second and third in a field of seven boats consisting of TU and Notre Dame crews on Friday evening on the St. Joseph River in South Bend, Ind.
"I thought we did really well against a very talented Notre Dame crew," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "We rowed cleanly and aggressively, which was great to see. The team represented Tulsa well today."
Tulsa's `A' boat was ahead of the Notre Dame crew in the middle of the course, but UND came back and finished six seconds ahead of the Golden Hurricane in a time of 14:13.2 on the 2.5-mile course. The TU `B' boat maintained a third-place spot throughout the course and captured a time of 14:45.4.
"We really stepped up and attacked very aggressively today," Dana Urbanek said. "We stepped up to the challenge today, but will now get focused on racing the Fours tomorrow."
