Engzelius Named C-USA Women's Golfer of the Week

TULSA, Okla. - Junior Marita Engzelius won individual medal honors, leading Tulsa to the ORU Shootout team title yesterday, and was named the Conference USA Women's Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
Engzelius, a junior from Oslo, Norway, won her first collegiate tournament at the ORU Shootout at Meadowbrook Golf Club in Broken Arrow, Okla. She shot a tournament-total 221 (71-73-77) to win the event by five strokes. Her play in two rounds Monday set the tone for the tournament, as she shot a one-under par 71 in the first round followed by a 73 in the second 18, to finish the day at even-par with a four-shot lead. In the final round Tuesday, she held strong on a difficult course layout to win the individual title.
The Golden Hurricane plays host to the Dale McNamara Invitational Oct. 11-13, at The Patriot Golf Club in Owasso, Okla.
