San Antonio, Texas - The UTSA Roadrunners defeated Tulsa, 87-67, on Friday night at the Convocation Center in San Antonio, Texas. TU women's hoops fell to 1-2 on the season, while UTSA moved to 3-2 overall.

Taleya Mayberry tallied a game-high 23 points, and picked up a team-best four steals and two assists for Tulsa. Amanda Mason also scored in double figures with 14 and tied teammate Chanice Scott with seven boards.

The Golden Hurricane out-rebounded UTSA, 44-38, and earned seven more steals (12-5). TU shot 31-percent from the field, 26-percent from the arc and 81-percent from the charity stripe.

Mayberry scored 10 of the Golden Hurricane's first 16 points, leading TU to a 16-5 advantage with 14:29 on the clock. The Roadrunners went on a 13-2 run and tied the game 18-all at the 8:48 mark. Both teams traded baskets and then UTSA took the lead for the remainder of the game and climbed to a 40-28 advantage at the break.

In the second half, the Roadrunners continued to inch ahead and took a game-high 29-point lead with 2:59 remaining and captured the 20-point victory.

UTSA was led by five players in double digits, including Amber Gregg (20), Ashley Gardner (15), Alysse Davis (11), Jermini Malone (11) and Cori Cooper (11). Davis also finished with 11 rebounds, while Malone had eight assists.

TU will return to action on Saturday afternoon against North Texas. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m. at the Convocation Center.
