Tulsa Women's Hoops to Host Southern Miss this Thursday

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa women's basketball team will take to the court on Thursday, Feb. 25th to face Southern Miss beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. Tickets are $8 for reserved seating, $6 for general admission and $4 for youth.
Tulsa (11-13, 5-8 C-USA) enters the contest on a four-game winning streak, and has won five of its last six games. The Golden Hurricane is led by Larrissa Williams with 17.2 ppg and Taleya Mayberry with 11.5 ppg. Williams also pulls down a team-high 9.1 rebounds per game and has 60 blocks, while Mayberry has 77 assists and owns 51 steals, and Jermaine Kermis has dished out 73 assists and 42 steals.
TU ranks among Conference USA as the top team for rebounding offense (43.0) and blocked shots (4.9), is second in field goal percentage defense (.370), offensive rebounds (17.1) and offensive rebound percentage (.395), is third in defensive rebounds (25.8), and is fourth in rebounding margin (+1.7).
Southern Miss enters the game with a 9-17 overall record and a 5-8 league mark, and are on a two-game winning streak. The Golden Eagles are led by Pauline Love who is averaging a double-double with 17.3 ppg and 12.7 rebounds per game. Candace Rucker and Tanesha Washington also post double-digit points with 12.0 ppg and 11.1 ppg, respectively. Rucker has a team-best 56 assists and 18 blocks, while Washington has 36 steals.
This will be the seventh meeting between the two teams, as Tulsa leads the series, 5-1. It was the Golden Eagles, however, that won the last meeting, 72-43, last year in Hattiesburg, Miss.
