Tulsa Hosts SMU This Thursday

The University of Tulsa women's basketball team will host SMU on Thursday, January 13th beginning at 7:05 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa women's basketball team will host SMU on Thursday, January 13th beginning at 7:05 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for youth (12 and under).

TU enters the game with a 4-6 overall record and a 0-2 mark in the league. The Golden Hurricane ranks first in Turnover Margin (+4.5) and Offensive Rebounds (20.2), and is second in Rebounding Offense (43.6), Steals (11.8) and Offensive Rebound Percentage (.409) among Conference USA's best.

Taleya Mayberry has a team-leading 17.7 points per game, as well as 37 assists and 31 steals. She is first in minutes played (35.4), second in scoring and third in steals among the league's best. Freshmen Amanda Mason and Loren McDaniel are both averaging 8.8 points per game this season, while McDaniel and Chanice Scott both pull down a team-best 5.7 rebounds per game and both have five blocks.

SMU is off to a 7-8 start this season, including a 0-2 mark in C-USA and are on a three-game losing streak. The Mustangs are led by four players scoring double-digit points, including Delisha Wills (11.0), Christine Elliott (10.7), Raquel Christian (10.5) and Samantha Mahnesmith (10.0). Elliott has a team-high 8.2 rebounds per game and 22 blocks, while Alisha Filmore has 53 assists and Mahnesmith has 20 steals.

This will be the 33rd meeting between Tulsa and SMU on the women's basketball court, with the Mustangs owning a 21-11 advantage in the all-time series. Both teams will be fighting for their first win in C-USA this season.
