Tulsa to Face Southern Miss Tonight

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women's basketball team will take on Southern Miss tonight beginning at 5:00 p.m. Central at the Reed Green Coliseum in Hattiesburg, Miss. The game will be televised live on Comcast Sports Southeast and will be tape-delayed at 8:30 pm on CBS College Sports.

The Golden Hurricane enters the game with a 4-7 overall record and a 0-3 mark in Conference USA. TU ranks first in Steals (12.1), Turnover Margin (+5.4) and Offensive Rebounds (20.1), second in Offensive Rebound Percentage (.407), and third in Rebounding Offense (42.7) among the league's best.

Taleya Mayberry has a team-leading 16.9 points per game, as well as 39 assists and 35 steals. Loren McDaniel has 9.0 ppg, a team-high 5.9 rebounds per game and five blocks.

Southern Miss is off to a 6-10 start this season and a 1-2 mark in C-USA, but the Golden Eagles have been tough to beat at home, tallying a 5-3 mark this season. USM is led by a trio of players scoring double-digit points, including Rachel Vigers (16.2), Tanesha Washington (12.8) and Jamierra Faulkner (10.9). Washington has a team-high 8.6 rebounds per game, while Faulkner has 90 assists and 43 steals.

This will be the eighth overall meeting with the Golden Eagles, as TU has a 6-1 lead in the all-time series. The Golden Hurricane won the last meeting, a 76-61 decision in Tulsa last year.
