Senior Stephen Carney shot a 217 to tie for sixth and lead the Golden Hurricane to a fifth-place finish at the Rod Myers Invitational.

DURHAM, N.C. - Senior Stephen Carney tied for sixth place with a 1-over par 217 to lead the Tulsa men's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the Rod Myers Invitational at the par-72 7,136-yard Duke University Golf Club.

The Golden Hurricane totaled 886 in the tournament with a 297 Sunday. All four Hurricane scorers finished among the top 30 individuals.

TU sophomore John Young Kim tied for 14th with a three-round 220 after shooting 74 on Sunday. Juniors Mark Mumford and Chris Worrell both tied for 29th with a tournament-total 226. Mumford shot a 74, while Worrell carded a 75 in the final round. Senior Andre' Tourinho tied for 32nd with a three-round 227, shooting 76 in the third round.

Duke claimed the team title with a 3-under par 861, including a 286 in the final round. The Blue Devils' Julian Suri took home individual medalist honors with a 5-under par 211 after posting a 68 on Sunday.

The Golden Hurricane returns to action Oct. 17-18 at the David Toms Invitational in Shreveport, La.
