Recap |  Box Score

Tulsa Head Coach Doug Wojcik

Opening Statement "That was a really good win for us, considering everything. What a bounce back for our guys. There were contributions from people that we haven't even asked to contribute in a month or so. That's mainly Shane Heirman and Blondy Baruti, who had two blocks in three minutes. I thought we did a great job taking care of the basketball for the majority of the game. Their press gave us a hard time. But we got through it. To me, at this stage of the game, that's what really matters. We got back on track with our rebounding. I thought that Justin Hurtt and Steven Idlet were absolutely terrific tonight. Scottie Haralson made a couple of shots. He did do a great job of feeding the post. He ends up having five turnovers from the press, but he had five assists. So we had 14 assists on the day. We out-rebounded them by 11. Tim Peete comes off the dribble off a ball-screen and knocks down a jump shot for us. For us to find a way and keep pace with everybody and being in a great position heading into the last week of the season is just a real testament to these guys. It has been a real journey for us, and we've been finding ways."

Tulsa Senior Guard Justin Hurtt

On focusing on the Rice game "It's a tough task, but we have to do that. If we look past Rice, we'll go down into their place and get beat. We have to go into that game thinking that we have a fight on our hands. We have to win that game."

On bouncing back after Marshall loss "It was tough. But we've been through a lot of tough stretches and we know how that feeling is. We're always ready to bounce back. We did a good job of that tonight."

Tulsa Junior Forward Steven Idlet

On performance tonight on both ends of the floor "It feels really good. I just had to relax and go out there and play how I know I can play. It felt good to play that way tonight."

On chance to finish at the top of the league "We still have a chance to win. We need to use that as motivation for these next two games because they are really important. I know there were a couple of upsets tonight. I know Southern Miss lost. I know UTEP put it on Memphis. We just need to stress the importance to everyone. We will do a good job of that. We really need to let them know how important these next two games are, especially this next Wednesday at Rice. That's going to be a big game."

Tulane Head Coach Ed Conroy

Opening Statement "Credit to Tulsa. I thought they played very smart when they needed to. I think they did a nice job early on of trying to limit Kris Richard and Johnny Mayhane from three-point shots. In the second half, they really pounded us on the block. They were able to build that lead. I'm proud of our guys and their effort and resolve to keep fighting and give us a chance there at the end, but credit to Tulsa."
