Tulsa Women Golfers Participate at UNLV Spring Invitational

Boulder Creek, Nevada - The Tulsa women's golf team is back in action this week as the Golden Hurricane participate in the UNLV Spring Invitational, Monday-Wednesday, March 7-9. The tournament will take place at the par 72, 6,246-yard Boulder Creek Golf Course.
Tulsa is coming off of a third place performance in the season-opening Claud Jacob Intercollegiate in February. Tulsa's Kamryn Ruffin finished in a first-place tie at that event with a nine-over par 225
Junior Marita Engzelius and sophomore Kristina Merkle lead the Hurricane golfers. Engzelius has a 75.3 stroke average in 15 rounds this year, while finishing among the top-25 in all five tournaments and in the top-five twice. Merkle has placed among the top-four in three tournaments this season and had a 75.3 stroke average through 15 rounds.
Host UNLV is the defending team champion, while Rebel senior Theresa Koelbeck was the individual medalist a year ago.
