Tulsa Women Golfers Receive Invite to NCAA West Regional

Indianapolis, Indiana - The NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee has announced the teams and individuals selected to participate in the 2011 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Regionals.
Tulsa has been selected to participate in the West Regional to be played at the Washington National Golf Course in Auburn, Washington. Joining Tulsa in the West are fellow Oklahoma schools Oklahoma and Oral Roberts as well as the Conference USA team champion UTEP.
Tulsa is making its 32nd national tournament appearance and in the 19 years of the NCAA regional format Tulsa is making its' 16th regional and fourth in a row. The Hurricane finished in second place at last week's Conference USA Championship. Along with Tulsa and UTEP other C-USA schools to make the field include Tulane and East Carolina in the Central Regional.
Three regional tournaments will be conducted May 5-7 to determine the championships field. Regional tournaments are considered preliminary rounds of NCAA championships competition, and all national championships policies apply.
A total of 378 participants have been selected for regional competition. Of these players, 126 will advance to the championships finals. Eight teams and two individuals will advance from each regional.
The championships finals will be held May 18-21 at the Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas and will be hosted by Texas A&M University, College Station.
