Tulsa Basketball to Play in 2011 Charleston Classic

Charleston, S.C. - The University of Tulsa will join the eight-team field for the 2011 Charleston Classic set to be held Thursday, Friday and Sunday, Nov. 17, 18 & 20, at Carolina First Arena in Charleston, S.C.
In addition to Tulsa, the field for the fourth annual Charleston Classic includes 2011 Final Four participant Virginia Commonwealth, the ACC's Georgia Tech, LSU of the SEC, Saint Joseph's of the Atlantic-10, Seton Hall of the Big East, the Sun Belt's Western Kentucky and the Big Ten's Northwestern.
The 2011 Charleston Classic, a bracket-format tournament, will feature 12 games over the three days. Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing through a bracket-tournament format. The two teams that remain undefeated throughout will face off in a championship contest Sunday, Nov. 20.
Georgetown won the 2010 Charleston Classic, with Miami (Fla.) winning in 2009 and Clemson taking the title in the inaugural tournament in 2008.
