Hurricane Women Host UTEP on Thursday

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa women's basketball team hosts UTEP on Thursday, February 16th beginning at 7:00 pm at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Reynolds Center ticket office.
The Golden Hurricane enters the game with a 10-12 mark on the season and a 5-6 record in Conference USA, but has defended its home court this season, posting an 8-3 mark in the friendly confines of the Reynolds Center.
Taleya Mayberry and Taylor Hooker are both averaging double-digit points with 13.5 and 11.3, respectively. Tiffani Couisnard has a team-best 7.9 rebounds per game and 17 blocks, while Mayberry has 68 assists and Hooker, who ranks 27th nationally with 3.0 steals per game, has 65 steals this season.
The Miners have a 22-2 overall record and an 11-0 mark in Conference USA, and are on a 12-game winning streak. Gloria Brown leads the team in points (11.4), rebounds (8.8), blocks (73) and steals (37), but she has yet to start a game this season. Kayla Thornton is second in points (9.8) and rebounds (6.7), while Kelli Willingham averages 8.1 ppg and has a team-best 63 assists.
This will be the 28th meeting between the Hurricane and the Miners, as UTEP has a 17-10 lead in the all-time series. UTEP has won the last 11-straight match ups, including a 67-56 decision earlier this season.
