Tulsa Women Golfers Open Play at Rebel Intercollegiate

Oxford, Mississippi - Fresh off of a second-place performance at the UALR Women's Golf Classic, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane women's golf team opens play Friday at the 54-hole Rebel Intercollegiate at the par-72, 6,313-yard Ole Miss Golf Course. The three-day tournament will conclude on Sunday with 18 holes each day.
The 15-team Rebel Intercollegiate field includes Ole Miss, Baylor, Harvard, Kansas State, Maryland, Memphis, Miami, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri, Murray State, Redlands, Rollins, Southern Miss and Tulsa.
Tulsa junior Kristina Merkle is the 15th-ranked individual in the Golfstat Cup Rankings as she leads the Golden Hurricane into the Rebel Intercollegiate. Merkle has placed among the top-six in six of seven tournaments this season, while senior Marita Engzelius has placed among the top-25 in six events as well.
The teams will tee-off at 8:00 am each day of the tournament, including off Tees #1 and #10 on Friday and Saturday, and a shotgun start for the final round on Sunday.
