The Series
Tulsa earned an 84-60 win over Valparaiso last season in the Reynolds Center. It was the only previous meeting between TU and the Crusaders.
Leading the Way
Seniors Mariah Turner and Kadan Brady, and junior Ashley Clark are all posting double-digit points this season. Turner has a team-high 16.1 ppg, followed by Clark with 15.1 ppg and Brady with 10.1 ppg. Clark has a team-best 7.4 rebounds per game and nine blocks, while Teanna Reid has 24 assists and Brady has 15 steals.
Scouting the Opponent
Valparaiso has a 3-4 overall record and are looking to snap a three-game losing streak. The Crusaders are led by Dani Franklin and Abby Dean with 12.1 and 10.0 ppg, respectively. Franklin also has a team-best 7.3 rpg, and Dean and Lexi Miller each have 21 assists.
In TU's Last Contest
In a game that had 11 lead changes, the Saint Louis Billikens (3-3) held on for a 63-58 road victory over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (3-4) Wednesday afternoon.
A three-point attempt by Kelsee Grovey, that would have put the Hurricane ahead by one point with 0:05 remaining on the game clock, was blocked and a subsequent deadball technical foul was called against Tulsa's Teanna Reid. Ahead 60-58, Saint Louis' Jenny Vliet connected on the two technical foul shots for a 62-58 lead with no time ticking off the clock.
In Tulsa's Top 10
Mariah Turner, Kelsee Grovey, Kadan Brady and Ashley Clark have already earned their way into Tulsa's Top 10 career lists.
Turner is first with a .574 field goal percentage; Grovey is seventh in three-point field goals made (120), three-point field goal percentage (.366) and free throw percentage (.818); Brady is eighth in three-point field goals made (115); and Clark is 10th in double-doubles with six.
