Men's Basketball Opens Road Trip at FAU Thursday

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Tulsa basketball team begins a South Florida road trip in Boca Raton with a contest against Florida Atlantic at 6 p.m. CT Thursday at FAU Arena.
The Golden Hurricane (13-12, 8-3 C-USA) has won three in a row and nine of its last 12 games. The Owls (10-16, 5-6 C-USA) have won two of their last three games, including a 71-69 win at UTEP last Thursday, and a 66-56 loss at UTSA on Saturday. This will be the first-ever meeting between Tulsa and FAU.
The game will be broadcast on the Golden Hurricane Radio Network, on KRMG AM 740/102.3 FM in Tulsa, and affiliates, or on www.TulsaHurricane.com.
Sophomore guard James Woodard leads Tulsa in scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Sophomore forward Rashad Smith scores 12.4 points with 5.1 rebounds per game. Shaquille Harrison averages 9.7 points and 3.6 assists per contest. Sophomore forward D'Andre Wright averages 7.6 points, sophomore guard Rashad Ray scores 6.0 points, Lew Evans scores 5.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per outing, Tim Peete averages 5.0 points and Brandon Swannegan averages 4.2 points.
The Golden Hurricane averages 73.3 points and 35.8 rebounds per game, shooting .443 from the field, including .341 from 3-point territory. Hurricane opponents average 69.2 points and 35.8 rebounds, while shooting .414 from the field.
Florida Atlantic is led by Pablo Bertone, who averages 18.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. Marquan Botley averages 10.5 points and 2.6 assists per contest, and Jackson Trapp adds 9.6 points per outing. Justin Raffington leads the team with 9.0 rebounds and puts up 9.4 points per game. The Owls average 67.3 points and 37.8 rebounds per game, shooting .427 from the field and .335 from 3-point distance. FAU opponents average 68.2 points and 35.5 rebounds per game, shooting .418 from the field.
