Tulsa Women Golfers in 11th Place at C-USA Championships

Gulf Shores, Ala. - After the opening round of the 2014 Conference USA Championships, the Tulsa women's golf team sits in 11th place in the 13-team field with a score of 314 at the par-72 The Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club on Monday.
Tulane jumped out to the first-round lead with a seven-under par 281, while UTSA sits in second place, five strokes behind the Green Wave, with a two-under par 286 total. Middle Tennessee (294), FIU (295) and East Carolina (296) round out the top-five teams.
Tulsa's Antonia Von Wnuck had Tulsa's best round of the day with a score of 76 and sits in 29th place after the first 18 holes. Karson Bizzell and Franziska Voellinger are tied for 43rd place after carding rounds of 79 today. Kayla Riede with a round of 80 is tied for 49th place, while freshman Nadia Majidizadeh shot a score of 82 for 58th place.
Second round action takes place on Tuesday, while the final 18 holes will be played on Wednesday.
