GREENVILLE, S.C. -

The University of Tulsa women's golf team will head to the Furman University Golf Course this weekend for the Lady Paladin Golf Tournament hosted by Furman. Play starts Sunday Sept. 21 and will conclude on Tuesday Sept. 23.

The 54-hole tournament features 18 teams who will take on the 6,266-yard course. The field includes Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Florida State, Furman, Georgia State, Kansas, Kennesaw State, North Carolina, Samford, Southern Miss, Texas Tech, UNC-Greensboro, Wofford, Wake Forest, Western Carolina and Yale.

Tulsa last competed at the Lady Paladin in the fall of 2003 and saw a second-place team finish with four golfers placing in the top-25 and two in the top-10.

In 1976 and 1977, Tulsa won back-to-back tournament titles at the Lady Paladin led in '76 by Nancy Lopez, who took home the individual title that year.

TU is coming off of a top-five finish at the Texas A&M "Mo"Morial tournament after struggling through the first round of action and coming back for rounds under 300 in both rounds two and three.

The comeback was in part thanks to sophomore Nadia Majidizadeh, who had a team low of 69 on the last day of the tournament to finish tied for 12th place with a final total of 223.
