Tulsa Faces East Carolina on Wednesday
Tulsa (7-8, 2-2 The American) continues its three-game home stand against East Carolina (10-6, 1-4 The American) on Wednesday, Jan. 14. The game, which is set for 7:00 pm at the Donald W. Reynolds Center, will be broadcast live for free on the American Digital Network.
The Series
This will be the 14th meeting in the all-time series as East Carolina leads the series 7-6. The Pirates came up with a 78-69 win last year in Greenville, N.C.
Leading the Way
Senior Mariah Turner and juniors Ashley Clark and Kelsee Grovey are posting double-digit points this season. Clark has a team-high 13.2 ppg, followed by Turner with 12.2 ppg and Grovey with 10.6 ppg. Clark has a team-best 7.4 rebounds per game and nine blocks, while Kadan Brady has 27 steals and Teanna Reid has 48 assists.
Scouting the Opponent
East Carolina has a 10-6 overall record, but have just a 1-4 mark in the league, snapping a four-game losing streak with an 87-46 win at Houston on Saturday. The Pirates are led by Jada Payne with 17.4 ppg, while I'Tiana Taylor also scores in double digits with 11.1 ppg and a team-best 9.7 rebounds per game. Janesha Ebron has 71 assists, Ondrea Shaw has 48 blocks and Jasmine Phillips has 38 steals.
In TU's Last Contest
Kelsey Grovey led five double-figure scorers with 19 points as the Tulsa Golden Hurricane captured a 79-69 victory against the Memphis Lady Tigers Saturday afternoon in front of 908 fans at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
Tulsa got 40 points off the bench, led by Ashley Hughes' 14 points, and 13 by both Kadan Brady and Teanna Reid as the Hurricane improved to 7-8 on the season and 2-2 in the American Athletic Conference. Ashley Clark added 10 points in a starting role for the Hurricane. Grovey added a team-best six rebounds and five assists, while Reid added a team-high six assists for Tulsa.
In Tulsa's Top 10
Mariah Turner, Kelsee Grovey, Kadan Brady and Ashley Clark have already earned their way into Tulsa's Top 10 career lists.
Turner is second with a .559 field goal percentage (283 of 506); Grovey is fifth in three-point field goals made (134), seventh in free throw percentage with a .815 clip (137 of 168) and ninth in three-point field goal percentage with a .362 clip (134 of 370); Brady is seventh in three-point field goals made (122); and Clark is eighth in double-doubles with eight.

The Golden Hurricane ranks 54th nationally in steals per game (10.5), 56th in three-point field goal percentage (34.9), 61st in field goal percentage (42.9) and 69th in assists per game (14.9).
Adding Up
Tulsa juniors Ashley Clark and Kelsee Grovey are looking to join the 1,000 point club this season. Only eight players have scored 1,000 points or more in their careers at Tulsa. Grovey currently has 845 points, while Clark has 804.
