Antoinet Webster had a team-best 17 points to lead Tulsa to a 92-50 win over Southeastern Oklahoma State on Friday night at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
Kelsee Grovey added 13 points, Erika Wakefield totaled 11 and Te'era Williams scored 10. Williams had a team-high nine rebounds and two blocks, while Ashley Hughes and Grovey each had three assists.
"This is two games in a row that we were able to play a lot of people and I think that is important, especially with four freshmen that need experience, and two people that are coming back from injury," Head Coach Matilda Mossman said. "They uncovered some stuff tonight in our defensive transition that it will be good for us to watch on film. We didn't rebound very well, and in the second quarter we had a funk where we didn't score, but we were able to come back in that same quarter with a group that wasn't our starting group. It is good to get that one under our belt and focus now on Kansas State."
The Golden Hurricane shot 45-percent from the field, including just 29-percent from three-point range, and was 19-of-30 from the charity stripe (63-percent). TU had a 56-43 lead in rebounds, a 12-6 advantage in assists, a 10-4 lead in steals and a 2-1 advantage in blocks.
Tulsa jumped out to an 11-2 lead with 5:32 on the clock and had a 16-4 advantage at the first quarter break. The Savage Storm cut their deficit to five, 18-13, at the 7:35 mark in the second frame, but the Hurricane inched ahead to take a 22-point lead (40-18) with 53-seconds left in the half and went into the locker room up 40-20.
Tulsa climbed to a 32-point lead at the third quarter break, 68-36, and reached a 45-point advantage (90-45) with 1:29 left to play.
Southeastern Oklahoma State was led by Olivia Potter with 17 points and Kaylie Baxter with eight boards. The Savage Storm shot 26-percent from the field, 18-percent from behind the arc and 64-percent from the free throw line.
Tulsa had 42 points in the paint, 32 points from the bench, 24 second chance points and 23 points off turnovers, compared to SOSU's 24 points in the paint, 22 points off the bench and 10 points off turnovers.
Tulsa will open the regular season on Friday, November 13 against Kansas State. Game time is set for 7:00 pm at the Reynolds Center.
