HURRICANE WOMEN'S GOLF CARDS 299 AGAINST KANSAS

TULSA, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women's golf team open their spring season Sunday when they hosted the Kansas Jayhawks for a one-round duel match at the Patriot Golf Club in Owasso, Okla. The Golden Hurricane finished the 18-hole contest with a 299 team total.

TU sophomore, Nadia Majidizadeh, carded a 71 coming in one-under par and tied for first with KU golfer Minami Levonowhich. The two went on to a playoff on holes 17 and 18. After the first round of the playoff, the two were still tied and moved on to a second round of the shootout. Back on 17, Levonowhich beat Majidizadeh by a stroke to claim the individual title.

The Jayhawks, who traveled 10 golfers to compete as `A' and `B' squads. The Kansas `A' group finished first in the team competition after scoring 292, KU's second group came into the clubhouse with a total of 316.

Senior Alex Haun and junior-transfer Chanya Angwarawong each carded totals of 75 tying for fifth place. Franziska Voellinger finished at 78 and Antonia Von Wnuck with 83.

Tulsa will be back on the links Feb. 22-23 at the Wisconsin Westbrook Invitational in Peoria, Ariz.
