In his first meet since the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 13 and 14,Bryce Robinson won both the 100 and 200-meter dash, including a Tulsa record 20.30 in the 200m, Thursday evening at the Red Raider Open on the campus of Texas Tech University.

Otugo Ananaba, who joined Robinson in Texas, finished 16th and 18th in the 100m and 200m, respectively.

In the duo's first race of the evening, the 100m, Robinson finished first, with a wind-aided time of 9.96. He was the lone sprinter of the 33-man field to break 10 seconds. Robinson took the top spot in Heat One, while teammate Ananaba finished sixth in Heat Two with a wind-legal time of 10.71.

In the 200m, Robinson's wind-legal 20.30 was .37 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. The record-setting sprint overtakes a 49-year old record, set in 1966 by Larry Hearne, who ran a 21.00.

The time also qualifies the junior for the 2015 USATF Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon, which takes place from June 25-28.

Ananaba had a fourth-place finish in Heat Three of the 200m, with a time of 21.64, a new personal best for the sophomore.

The duo will now travel to Austin, Texas to take part in the Longhorn Invitational on Saturday, May 2.
