Tulsa Women Golfers Place Sixth at Amelia Island Collegiate

The Tulsa women's golf team turned in a sixth-place finish at the Amelia Island Collegiate in the first spring event for the Golden Hurricane. Tulsa carded a final round and team-best 297 for a 54-hole total of 898, just three strokes off of third place, at the par-72 Amelia National Golf Club.
 
Tulsa's Nadia Majidizadeh, from local Tulsa Union High School, turned in the best round of the day for the Hurricane with a one-under par 71 to finish in 18th place overall with a score of 223.
 
Majidizadeh began the final round with a birdie on hole eight, and proceeded to birdie three of the next seven holes to take a four-under par score into her 10th hole of the day, but went double-bogey and bogey on her 10th and 11th holes, which were hole Nos. 17 and 18. She had two more bogeys to finish the day at one-under par.
 
Antonia Von Wnuck placed 26th overall with a final score of 226. After a two-over par score Monday, Von Wnuck had a tough Tuesday with a score of 80. Freshman Brydie Hodge finished in 31st place with a total score of 227 after today's round of 72.
 
Senior Alex Haun had Tulsa's second best round of the day with an even-par 72 for a 34th place total of 228, while freshman Johanna Samuelsson placed 56th with a 234 total.
 
North Florida captured the team title with a score of 879, while Daytona State's Ji Sun Kang won individual medalist honors with one-under par score of 215.
 
Tulsa will be in action next at the Clover Cup, March 11-13, at the Longbow Golf Course in Mesa, Arizona.
