
Tulsa Men’s Tennis Lands Top Prep Tennis Athlete Jarod Hing

TULSA, Okla. – Jarod Hing, a highly-touted tennis athlete from Horizon High School in Phoenix, Ariz., signed a national letter-of-intent to continue his education and tennis career at The University of Tulsa, Head Coach Vince Westbrook announced today.
In his first year as a USTA 18-and-under player, Hing was ranked second in the Boys 18's Singles Southwest section, and 50th nationally. He won 17 consecutive matches to begin the 2015-16 season and has won three Arizona Junior Championships.
As a prep athlete, Hing was crowned the 2015 Arizona Division I High School State Champion after turning in an undefeated season. He earned 2015 National High School All-America honors. Hing was named the 2015 Paradise Valley School All-District Boys Tennis Team MVP and was the 2015 Division I Player of the Year. He also finished in the top-eight of the Boys 18's Winter Nationals in 2015 and was a quarterfinalist in the Father-Son Hardcourt Nationals in 2013.
Hing's success has carried over to his studies as he is currently taking Honors and AP classes in Mathematics, Science and Mandarin.
"Jarod was highly recruited by many west coast schools," said Westbrook. "We are very fortunate to bring him to Tulsa. Jarod's talent will truly blossom in college. We are excited to have such a talented student-athlete join our program."
