
Shug Dickson Named American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week

Tulsa's Shug Dickson was named as the American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week for the second-straight week, as announced today by the league office.
Dickson averaged 15.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals in 30.5 minutes per game to help the Golden Hurricane capture a 66-59 win over SMU and fall to Tulane by just five points (70-65). Dickson had 11 points, six rebounds two assists and two steals against the Green Wave, and followed up that performance with 20 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals against the Mustangs. Dickson scored her fourth 20+ point game in the last five contests and was just one rebound shy of a double-double against SMU.
This was Dickson's second Freshman of the Week accolade (Jan. 23 and Jan. 30) and fifth for TU this season. Alexis Gaulden picked up the honor twice (Dec. 19 and Jan. 9) and Kendrian Elliott has received the accolade once (Nov. 14).
