
Tulsa Women’s Basketball Participates in American Athletic Conference Media Day

Tulsa Head Coach Matilda Mossman, senior guard Erika Wakefield and sophomore forward Kendrian Elliott attended the annual American Athletic Conference Basketball Media Day on Monday, October 16 in Philadelphia, Pa.
Coach Mossman, Elliott and Wakefield met with ESPN and the American Digital Network, as well as local and national media. They participated in multiple photo shoots for The American and recorded videos for the postseason tournament.
The American announced the 2017-18 Preseason Coaches' Poll at the event, where the Tulsa program was selected to finish ninth by the league's coaches. UConn, which has won four-straight American Athletic Conference Championships, was picked firs, USF was selected to finish second and Temple was selected third. UCF, SMU, Tulane, Memphis, Cincinnati, Tulsa, Wichita State, Houston and ECU round out the poll.
The Golden Hurricane finished last season with a 10-21 overall record, including a 5-11 mark in The American to finish ninth.
The 2017-18 campaign begins on November 10, with conference play set to begin on December 30. The 2018 American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Championship is slated for March 3-6 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
