
Tulsa Men’s Tennis Team Falls to Tennessee, 7-0

The Tulsa men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Tennessee on Friday night at the Goodfriend Tennis Center in Knoxville, Tenn. The Golden Hurricane fell to 4-5 on the season, while the Volunteers moved to 7-2 overall.
Tennessee's 24th-ranked Jack Schipanski and Luis Valero captured a 6-1 win over Tulsa's Dominic Bechard and Okkie Kellerman at the No. 1 double position, while the Volunteers' 29th-ranked Scott Jones and Timo Stodder earned a 6-2 decision in the No. 2 slot over 23rd-ranked Majed Kilani and Or Ram-Harel to take the doubles point.
Jones recorded a win over Bechard at the No. 3 singles position, 6-2, 6-1, and Schipanski tallied a 6-1, 6-3 decision over Kellerman at the No. 5 slot. Srdjan Jakovljevic tallied the final point for the Volunteers with his win over Mitchell Pritchard at the No. 4 position, 6-1, 6-4.
Tulsa's 23rd-ranked Ram-Harel dropped a 7-6 (6), 7-5 decision to 118th-ranked Stodder at the No. 1 slot and in the No. 2 position, 115th-ranked Majed Kilani fell to Luis Valero, 5-7, 7-6 (1), 1-0 (5). Jarod Hing won his first set, 7-5, but fell 6-1 and 6-4 in the final two sets at the No. 6 slot to Luca Wiedenmann.
The Hurricane will host #7 UCLA at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Monday, marking the third top-seven ranked opponent that Tulsa's has welcomed into their building through six home events. Tulsa is 0-2 in their last two meetings against the Bruins, falling on the road in 2015 and 2013.
