Tulsa Men's Tennis Falls to #7 UCLA, 7-0

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa Men's Tennis team fell to No. 7-ranked UCLA at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Monday evening, 7-0.

Tulsa's (4-6 overall) No. 23-ranked doubles pairing of Or Ram-Harel and Majed Kilani extended doubles play with a 6-3 win over Joseph Di Giulio and Austin Rapp, breaking the UCLA (6-1 overall) duo's serve four times in the match, including a break on match point.

Dominic Bechard and Okkie Kellerman found themselves in a tight battle that would decide the doubles point against No. 16-ranked Martin Redlicki and Evan Zhu in a match that needed a tiebreak to decide it. Bechard and Kellerman took an early 3-2 lead in the tiebreak before three straight UCLA points helped them secure a 7-6 (5) win while taking a 1-0 lead in the dual.

The Bruins opened up singles play by taking the first set in all six matches before eventually closing out three needed to secure the win en route to a 7-0 victory.

No. 23-ranked Ram-Harel made a push in the second set to against No. 19-ranked Gage Brymer after dropping the first set 6-4. The Tulsa senior was dominant in the second set with a 6-0 win over Brymer to send it to a tiebreak third set. In the tiebreak, Ram-Harel battled back from down 9-5 and to tie at 9-9, seeing seven match points before eventually falling 13-11.

The Hurricane will take 10 days off before they travel to Norman, Okla. to take on No. 14-ranked and in-state rival Oklahoma on Feb. 24 at 6 p.m.
