Men’s Tennis Wrapped up Doubles action at Day One of Drake Invitational

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Golden Hurricane men's tennis team took to the court Friday, at the Drake Invitational. The duo of Joshua Goodger and Boriss Kamdem won their opening round matchup.

Goodger and Kamden beat Omaha's Luke Moorhead and Marko Minic in the opening round, 6-0. They went on to defeat the pair of Eden Mrozek and Hunter Terrell of North Dakota, 6-3. Goodger and Kamden were knocked off by Creighton's Daniel Lopez-Rey and Mac Mease, 6-3.

The tandem of Mitchell Pritchard and Jarod Hing lost their opening round match to Gustavus Adolphus' Yassine Derbani and Zach Ekstein, 6-4. Hing and Pritchard bounced back in their second match, as they bested the pair of Annei Laska and Davide Callegari from North Dakota. Hing and Pritchard fell to Creighton's Alex Koca and Armando Gandini, 6-3.

Singles action starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23. Hing will face North Dakota's David Martinez. Goodger has a matchup against Abdoul Ouattara of Ohama. Pritchard is set to take on Davide Callegari of North Dakota. Kamdem will battle Coe's Josh Pudlo.
