Golden Hurricane Hosts Two Nationally Ranked Teams this Week

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa men's tennis returns home for three home matches this week as it starts its eight-game home stand. The Hurricane faces No. 7 Texas A&M on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 6 p.m., No. 22 Tulane on Friday, Feb. 2, at 6 p.m. and Alabama on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 1 p.m. All home matches will be played at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
The Aggies won the last meeting, in 2014, 6-1. Texas A&M has three players ranked inside the Top-55, No. 10 Valentin Vacherot, No. 41 Jordi Arconada and No. 53 A.J. Catanzariti. The Aggies also feature two ranked doubles teams, No. 18 Juan Carlos Aguilar and Arconada and No. 25 Kevin Lamb and Arconada.
Tulane won last season's matchup, 6-1. The Green Wave has four players ranked in the Top-150, No. 21 Constantin Schmitz, No. 46 Luis Erlenbusch, No. 107 Tyler Schick, and No. 112 Ewan Moore. Tulane has two doubles teams ranked, No. 16 Schick and Erlenbusch and No. 47 Hamish Stewart and Tim Ruetzel.
The match with the Crimson Tide will be the first in the last 20 years.
