Kilani, Goodger Advance to Round of 16 at ITA Central Regional

TULSA, Okla. – University of Tulsa men's tennis standouts Majed Kilani and Joshua Goodger advanced to the singles round of 16 at the ITA Central Regional in the Case Tennis Center on Friday.
Kilani was the first to take the court for Tulsa, facing off with Tom Kruse of UMKC. The Tunisia native dispatched of Kruse quickly to book his spot in the singles round of 16 on Saturday, 6-1, 6-2.
Kilani is scheduled to face Vinny Gillespie of Drake in his match on Saturday.
Goodger would follow suit later in the afternoon, going head-to-head with Josh Howard-Tripp of Arkansas. Goodger rallied late in the second set, taking down the Razorback, 6-3, 7-5.
Gooder will square off with Oklahoma State's Matej Vocel for his round of 16 match.
Doubles kicked off day two at the ITA Central Regional, as Boriss Kamdem/Tom Thelwall-Jones squared off with Aleksandre Bakshi/Stefano Tsorotiotis (Oklahoma). The Tulsa duo used a flurry of strong service play to handle the Oklahoma pair, 8-4.
The Golden Hurricane tandem played their round of 16 match later in the morning, squaring off with Davis Lawley and Abdoul Ouattara of Nebraska-Omaha. Kamdem/Thelwall-Jones once again played with energy, defeating the Omaha duo, 8-4, to advance to Saturday's doubles quarterfinals.
The Tulsa pair will face another stiff test in doubles action, set to play Nebraska's Toby Boyer and Micah Klousia, who entered the Regionals ranked as the No. 4 seed.
Action will resume tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. CT in Tulsa.
This marks the 10th time in program history Tulsa serves as the official Regional host.
