Seven Named NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Tulsa softball senior Tori Stafford, sophomores Sarah Briers, Erin Harris, Marisa Olmos, Samantha Pochop and Jesse Smith along with graduate Ashley Kiser were all recognized as 2017-18 Easton NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced on Wednesday.
To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes need to have at least a 3.5 GPA.
In addition, all seven student-athletes also were named to the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team in June.
Along with their success in the classroom, the group helped TU to a 34-win campaign and the program's third consecutive American Tournament Championship and automatic NCAA Regional bid last season.
