PROVIDENCE, R.I.  –– For only the second time in the six-year history of the American Athletic Conference, the same golfer has earned the league's golfer of the month award for back-to-back months. Tulsa freshman Lorena Tseng (Tainan, Taiwan) repeated as the Golfer of the Month for October after also winning the award in September.

The only other American Athletic Conference student-athlete to sweep the fall golfer of the month honors for September and October was ECU's Lisa Pettersson in the 2016-17 season.

In two October tournaments, Tseng placed first and ninth to pace the Golden Hurricane women's golf team. In the first October event, Tseng carded round of 75-74-69 to finish with a 2-over par 218 at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate, leading Tulsa to a fifth-place team finish.

Tseng had her best collegiate performance when she won the individual medalist title at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown with a 13-under par score of 203, turning in rounds of 69-69-65. She led the Hurricane to a second-place finish in the 17-team field with a 22-under par team score of 842.

For the month, Tseng had a 70.2 stroke average in six rounds and so far in 12 collegiate fall rounds has turned in 70.5 average with seven sub-even par rounds. She has placed among the top-10 in all of Tulsa's first four tournaments this year.

The Golden Hurricane began action earlier today at the Battle at the Beach in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.
