Goodger and Hing Takes Down the No. 4 Duo in the Nation, but Tulsa Falls to No. 12 Texas

AUSTIN, Texas – Joshua Goodger and Jarod Hing knocked off the No. 4 doubles team in the country, against the Longhorns on Sunday. Texas (12-3) beat Tulsa (10-14), 7-0, at the Texas Tennis Center.

Goodger and Hing stormed away with a 6-1 victory in the No. 1 doubles match against the nation's No. 4 doubles team of Leonardo Telles and Rodrigo Banzer. Goodger and Hing have bolstered a 2-1 record against nationally ranked teams.

The Longhorns claimed the No. 3 doubles match between Colin Markes and Yuya Ito and Louis Corker and Mitchell Pritchard, 6-0. Christian Sigsgaard and Adrian Ortiz bested Lucca Baptista and Majed Kilani, 6-3, in the No. 2 doubles match. Texas led 1-0 after the completion of doubles action.

Ortiz picked up the first singles victory, as he beat Boriss Kamdem in the No. 6 spot, 6-0 and 6-1. The No. 70 ranked Harrison Scott knocked off Jarod Hing, 6-0 and 6-2, in the No. 3 singles position. In the No. 2 singles match, the No. 110 ranked Sigsgaard defeated the No. 81 ranked Goodger, 6-3 and 6-2. The Longhorns clinched the match with Sigsgaard's victory.

In the No. 1 singles position, No. 60 Ito claimed a two set victory, 6-2 and 6-2, against the No. 116 ranked Kilani. Telles, ranked No. 89, tabbed a victory in the No. 4 spot against Baptista, 6-1 and 6-2. Banzer took the final match against Pritchard, 6-0 and 6-1, in the No. 5 singles match.

Tulsa returns to action after a week off against the No. 40 ranked UCF Knights on Friday, April 6, at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The match is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be senior day.
