The University of Tulsa men's soccer team defeated Central Arkansas 1-0 in exhibition play on Saturday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.

Thomas Wells scored the lone goal of the contest at the 54:39 mark as he shot from 12 yards out into the lower left corner of the net off a pass from midfielder Joe Ruiz.

In a tightly-contested match, TU put the pressure on the Bears with 13 shots, with five coming on goal. Â Ruiz, Wells and senior Juan Sanchez each delivered three shots on the night.

Sophomore keeper Cooper Clark earned a shutout in the win, saving the only UCA shot on goal in the contest.

Tulsa will open the regular season on Friday, August 24 at Michigan. Game time is set for 6:00 pm in Ann Arbor, Mich.
