Tulsa Volleyball Travels to Wisconsin for Marquette Invitational

TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa volleyball squad heads to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this weekend to take part in the Marquette Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
The team will play only two matches in the tournament, despite Illinois State, No. 21 Marquette and No. 6 Wisconsin taking part in the weekend competition.
The first match pits TU (7-2) against Illinois State (7-2) on Friday at 3 p.m. CT. Tulsa has never beaten Illinois State in program history, but the last meeting between the teams hasn't been since 1997.
On Saturday, the Golden Hurricane goes head-to-head with host and No. 21 Marquette (7-2) at 1 p.m. CT. The teams have met only once in program history in 1997, but Tulsa swept Marquette in the match.
The team is coming off an impressive showing at its home tournament last weekend. Head coach Ryan Wills' squad went a perfect 3-0 at the Tulsa Volleyball Invitational, taking victories over Abilene Christian, Northwestern State and Oral Roberts.
