TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa volleyball team (10-4, 2-0) defeated North Texas (5-13, 1-1) in a five-set battle, 3-2, on Wednesday in the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

The first set was an indicator of what was to come as the teams battled it out, with North Texas taking the first set, 25-20. Both teams struggled offensively, but eight digs from DS/L Taylor Horsfall kept the Hurricane close.

The second set was even tighter, with the Golden Hurricane edging out the frame, 26-24. Senior Emily Thorson took over at the net, smashing seven kills on a .400 hitting percentage in the set win. Horsfall posted another nine digs in stanza.
