TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of Tulsa men's tennis team (7-1) was receiving votes in the latest edition of the Oracle ITA collegiate team rankings, the organization has announced on Wednesday.

The team's 7-1 record marks the best start to a season since 2008-09, in which the Golden Hurricane started the dual season 9-1 overall.

The team's biggest victory thus far into the season came over No. 14 TCU, as Tulsa took down the Horned Frogs, 4-2, inside the Case Tennis Center. The win marked the first against TCU since 2014, and the highest ranked win for head coach Vince Westbrook's squad since a 2017 victory over No. 4 Texas.

Individually, the Golden Hurricane is led by senior and captain Majed Kilani, who's ranked No. 55 in the ITA singles rankings and 3-0 at the No. 1 singles spot. Along with Kilani, both sophomore Boriss Kamdem and junior Jarod Hing are both 6-0 in the spring season.

The team is slated to face off with Oral Roberts (1-1) on Friday at 7 p.m. CT inside the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The team will then make the short trip to Fayetteville, where the Arkansas Razorbacks (5-2), also receiving votes, await for Tulsa's first road test of the season on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.
