NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - The University of Tulsa's Kody Pearson saw his run at the 2019 Oracle International Tennis Association (ITA) National Fall Championships come to an end on Saturday against Raphael Lambling from South Carolina in the consolation semifinals 6-0, 1-6, 6-1. The match was held at the Newport Beach Tennis Club.

Pearson got off to a strong start in the second set, winning the first three games en route to tying the match at 1-1. He would carry the momentum into the third set, going up 1-0. But the Gamecock won six consecutive games. as Pearson suffered his second loss at the championships.

The match featured two of the nationally ranked players. Pearson ranked 96th in the 2019-20 Preseason ITA Division I Men's Individual National Rankings. Lambling is tied for 110th.

Pearson (8-4) clinched a spot in the championships by winning the Central Regional Singles Champion. He traveled to California, riding a six-game winning streak.

Saturday's match marks the end of the fall season for the Golden Hurricane. They posted a 20-27 record in singles competition and 6-10 mark in doubles action.
