FAYETTEVILLE, Ark
. – The University of Tulsa track and field team completed the regular-season portion of the indoor track and field season on Friday, as a handful of athletes took part in the Arkansas Qualifier in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Carsyn Spurgeon was the first to compete for the Golden Hurricane, leaping 5.67m/18-7.25 feet in the women's long jump for fourth overall. Spurgeon's jump marked her second-best of the season, and less than a foot away from the redshirt sophomore's career-best.

Freshman Jaidah McCallon also made a splash on Friday, managing her best 800-meter time since coming to TU, going 2:15.43 for third in her heat and eighth-place overall.

Sprinter Cara Johnson ran two strong races in the 60-meter preliminary and finals. Johnson toed the line and raced the sprints in 7.77 for seventh overall in both races.

In the final event of the night for the Golden Hurricane, four athletes set PR's in the men's 200-meter dash. Zachary Adee, Henry Visser, Joseph Nemec and Rory Mitchell all tallied personal-best times to close out the meet for Tulsa.

After Friday's brief tune up, TU will spend the week in preparation for the American Indoor Championships on Feb. 22-23 in Birmingham, Alabama.
