Tulsa Golfers in 3rd Place After Opening Round at the Kiawah Island Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, SC – The Tulsa women's golf team carded an opening round score of 290 on Sunday and sits in third place in the 49-team field at the Kiawah Island Spring Classic.
 
Freshman Lorena Tseng and senior Johanna Samuelsson each carded even-par rounds of 72 for a 17th-place tie, while a pair of freshmen, Sammy Liu and ShaeLee Scarberry, turned in rounds of 1-over par 73 and are tied for 36th place.
 
Sophomore Taylor Dobson shot a first round score of 74 and sits in 54th place in the field of 254 golfers.
 
Coastal Carolina holds down the top team spot with a 2-under par score of 286, while the top individual is Lehigh's Reagan Jahn with a 4-under par round of 68.
 
The tournament will continue on Monday.
 
After tomorrow's second round action, the top 24 teams will play for the championship at Osprey Point course during the final round on Tuesday, while teams 25-48 will play for a flight championship at Oak Point course.
