Tulsa Golfers Finish in 3rd Place at the Kiawah Island Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, SC – The Tulsa women's golf team finished in third place at the 49-team Kiawah Island Spring Classic. Tulsa shot a final round 283 at the par-72 Osprey Point Golf Course on Tuesday for a 54-hole total of 8-over par 872.
 
The Hurricane moved up from fifth place at the start of the day into the final third-place spot, while shooting its best round of the tournament. The top-5 performance was the 5th in seven tournaments for Tulsa this season.
 
Tulsa freshman Lorena Tseng led the way with a score of 3-under par 69 for a 215 total and 10th place. Senior Johanna Samuelsson and freshman ShaeLee Scarberry each had their best rounds of the tournament with identical scores of even par-70. Samuelsson finished in 13th place with a 216 total, while Scarberry turned in a final score of 218.

Tseng's 10th place performance marked her sixth top-10 finish in seven tournaments this season, while Samuelsson had her second straight top-15 outing.
 
Sophomore Taylor Dobson finished in 55th place with a score of 224, while freshman Sammy Liu placed 65th overall with a 225-total score.
 
Coastal Carolina and North Florida tied for the team title with scores of 865.
 
Tulsa will be in action next at the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational, March 18-19, in Fairfax, California.
