Tulsa Golfers Open Spring Season Monday at Texas State Invitational

KYLE, Texas – The Tulsa women's golf team returns to the course next week in Kyle, Texas, to begin the spring season. The two-day, 54-hole Texas State Invitational takes place Monday-Tuesday, Feb. 11-12, at the par-71 Plum Creek Golf Course.
Tulsa looks to duplicate its performance from the fall season opener when the Golden Hurricane captured the team title at the Hobble Creek Fall Classic.
The Hurricane goes into the Texas State Invitational with the 5-player team of seniors Olivia Jackson and Johanna Samuelsson and a trio of freshmen – Lorena Tseng, ShaeLee Scarberry and Sammy Liu.
The freshman sensation Tseng finished among the top-10 in her first four tournaments and has a 71.3 stroke average. She won her first collegiate event at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown and placed at the lady Paladin Invitational and 4th at the Hobble Creek Fall Classic.
Jackson turned in two top-6 performances in the fall and comes into the spring season with a 74.7 stroke average.
The 16-team field also includes Boston College, Cal State Fullerton, Houston Baptist, Kansas State, Lamar, Little Rock, ORU, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas State, UT Arlington, UTEP, Texas-Rio Grande Valley and UTSA.
The teams will tee-off in a shotgun start Monday at 8:15 p.m. with the first two rounds being played that day and the final 18 holes coming on Tuesday.
