Tulsa Rows at Clemons Invite, But Races Cancelled Due to Poor Weather Conditions

Tulsa raced a Varsity 8+ and 2^nd Varsity 8+ down the course in their Heats at the Clemson Invite before the racing had to be called off due to poor water conditions. All times for the regatta were unofficial.

After cancelling all the races on Friday in what was supposed to be the first day of the regatta, the races began on Saturday morning before the regatta had to be cancelled.

"Clemson really puts on a quality race, but they ran up against some unusual circumstances with thunderstorms, rain and the then the dams opening up, so they couldn't provide safe conditions to race the rest of the races," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "We appreciate the fact that they kept trying to find a way to race, but the weather just didn't cooperate."

"Our crew did a fantastic job of handling all the variables with an elite fashion. The Varsity 8+ and 2^nd Varsity 8+ were smart with how they prepared, and they executed as well as they could today. I felt good about what we were able to do in our two races."

Tulsa will return to action at Central Oklahoma on Monday, May 6, before racing in the American Athletic Conference Championship on Sunday, May 19. Both races will take place in Oklahoma City.
