Tulsa Freshman Lorena Tseng Begins Play Monday at NCAA Norman Regional

NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Tulsa freshman golfer Lorena Tseng tees off Monday at the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships – Norman Regional.
 
Tseng will tee-off at 9:15 a.m. at the par-72, 6,407-yard Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club. She is paired with Han-Hsuan Yu and Lianna Bailey from Oklahoma State.
 
The Norman Regional is one of four regional tournaments as each one includes 18 teams and six individuals. Tseng is one of the six golfers competing as an individual at the Norman Regional
 
Tseng is the first Tulsa individual golfer to make the regional since the 2012-13 campaign when Shu-Yin Liu and Kristina Merkle made regional appearances.
 
The freshman sensation has 71.9 stroke average in 30 rounds, while turning in 10 sub-70 rounds as well as 16 rounds of even-par or below this season. Tseng has placed among the top-15 in eight of 10 tournaments, including seven top-10 finishes.
 
A total of 24 teams and 12 individuals will advance to the national championships to be played May 17-22 at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
