Tulsa Extends Lead After 36 Holes at American Conference Championship

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. — The University of Tulsa women's golf team extended its lead to 15 strokes following 36 holes of play at the American Conference Championship on Tuesday at Southern Hills Plantation Club.
The Golden Hurricane fired a second consecutive round of four-under par 284 and sits at eight-under par 568 through two rounds. Tulsa is the only team under par for the championship and holds a sizable advantage over second-place Charlotte (+7, 583).
Tulsa also placed four golfers inside the top 10 heading into Wednesday's final round.

Samantha Olson leads the way for the Golden Hurricane, sitting in second place at four-under par 140 after posting her second under-par round of the tournament. Olson entered her final three holes at one-over par before closing strong with two birdies to finish the day at one-under par. She trails Charlotte's Pinky Chaisilprungruang by two shots.
Romaine Masserey is in fourth place at two-under par 142 after carding an even-par round of 72 on Tuesday. Masserey recorded five birdies and five bogeys in her round, marking her sixth round of par or better this season.
Jenni Roller holds fifth place at one-under par 143. Roller was even through 15 holes before a double bogey on No. 16 led to a second-round score of two-over par 74.
Making one of the biggest moves of the day was Allyn Stephens, who climbed 21 spots into a tie for ninth place at two-over par 146. Stephens highlighted her round with an eagle on the par-5 fifth hole and finished with a two-under par 70.
Freshman Zoe Shamy also surged up the leaderboard, jumping 19 positions after posting a one-under par 71. Shamy overcame an opening double bogey by recording two birdies and an eagle on the front nine and added another birdie on the back nine. She enters the final round tied for 16th at four-over par 148.
Tulsa will return to action Wednesday for the final round of the American Conference Championship. The Golden Hurricane will be paired with Charlotte and UTSA, with tee times scheduled from 7:50 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. (CT).
