Six Tulsa rowers were named as Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar Athletes, as announced today by the CRCA. All student-athletes must be at least a sophomore, row in a minimum of 75-percent of the current spring races in an NCAA or IRA eligible boats, and have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher as of December 2018.
"It was a very good year academically for our team from start to finish," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "I am proud of our rowers for working consistently hard out on the water and in the classroom. What's great about Tulsa is we don't have to ask this of the athletes, it's in their DNA, which is one of the things that makes all our teams good."
Among the honorees are seniors Julia Herrel and Ellie Russell, juniors Sydney Pirkle, Veronique Ulrich and Elisa Vandersloot, and sophomore Madison Bickle.
