TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the 2019-20 Preseason ITA Division I Men's Individual National Rankings on Tuesday and ranked the University of Tulsa's Kody Pearson No. 96 overall.

This is the sophomore's highest ranking of his career. He was last ranked 117th in the March 19th national poll.

During his freshman campaign, the Australian compiled an 18-13 overall record in singles play, including a 2-4 mark against nationally-ranked foes. In doubles competition, Pearson ended the year going 15-11 overall.

Pearson primarily saw action at No. 4 singles last season, where he went 7-4. In doubles play, he primarily played with fellow sophomore Daniel Siddall splitting time between the No. 2 and No. 3 slots. The duo went 9-5 overall, including 5-1 mark in the No. 3 slot.

Members of the Golden Hurricane squad are currently participating in the Legacy National Bank NWA Tennis Series, which is being held at Arkansas at the Billingsley Center. The tournament, which is part of the ITF World Tennis Tour, features Pearson along with Tulsa freshmen Juan Pablo Cenoz and Ezequiel Santalla.

Director of Tennis and men's tennis head coach Vince Westbrook's squad will next compete at the Norman Men's Open Series 25K on Sunday, Sept. 29.
